Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

The Victoria Falls
The
largest falling sheet of water in the world. From the seventeen hundred
metre-wide lip, the Zambezi River plunges in excess of one hundred
metres into the chasm, hurling clouds of moisture hundreds of metres
into the air.
The Falls are generally at their most spectacular during the period
February to May. From September to November the flow is at its lowest,
with several of the falls on the Zambian bank virtually dry.
The Victoria Falls Hotel
Established
in 1904, this legendary hotel, built by the railways, has welcomed
royalty and celebrities for over 100 years.
Guests enjoy gracious, caring service, high tea on the terrace and
linger over Livingstone cocktails before formal fine dining in the
elegant Livingstone Room with its pre-First World War ambience and
modern dance band.
The Jungle Junction offers a more traditional African experience, with
delicious buffet breakfasts and dinners with Shangaan dancers and a
local choir.
Nestling on a World
Heritage site overlooking the Victoria Falls Bridge, the hotel is
steeped in history, it epitomises Old World charm and is a living
example of the gracious colonial era.
The rooms are decorated with colonial prints, four poster canopied
beds, antique furniture and well chosen artifacts, combined with modern
facilities including personal safes, mini bars, bathrobes and digital
satellite television.
