A’Zambezi
River Lodge
Given a complete "overhaul" and re-opened in May 2011, this iconic
property has been given new life! Still the only lodge on the banks of
The Zambezi River in Victoria Falls, A'Zambezi River Lodge is looking
stunning with new and stylish rooms and bathrooms. A’ Zambezi is
located some 5kms from the Falls.
The hotel comprises 83 rooms, each with en-suite bathroom and balcony.
The accommodation is set in five 2-storey buildings constructed in a
semi circle overlooking the gardens, swimming pool and the Zambezi
River beyond.
Each of the rooms is individually air-conditioned, and all are equipped
with satellite wall mounted TV, Tea and Coffee making facilities,
telephone and
safety deposit box.
A complimentary bus service operates between the hotel and the centre
of town every hour throughout the day.
Hwange National
Park
The Park lies south of the Victoria Falls, where the wetter miombo
savannahs meet the sands of the Kalahari. Once the hunting grounds of
the Matabele kings Mzilikazi and Lobengula, and decimated by early
European hunters, an area of 14000 square kilometres was placed under
conservation protection in 1949 and the Park now boasts over 100
different species of mammal and 400 species of bird.
Hwange Safari
Lodge
This is one of the longest standing game lodges / hotels in the region
and is still successful due to its location overlooking the "vlei" and
being only 2 hours from Victoria Falls. The waterhole in front of the
lodge plays host to game throughout the day and the elevated viewing
deck on the property means you can view game right from the lodge and
not even have to venture too far from your room! The concession boasts
wonderful game and many species of both animal and bird life. Hwange
Safari Lodge is more of a hotel than a game lodge and therefore offers
the comfort of a solid structure with the bush at your doorstep.
